Where are they now...

Starting a new thing... every couple of months we will showcase a foal we bred and raised and see what they've been up to since they left our farm.

Cutter and Wes Gill at the 2011 AQHA Congress in Ohio

First foal(horse) we'd like to Showcase in March is "Cutter" aka Hot and Charming. A 2007 black AQHA gelding by Silks Shining Spark, out of Justa Lena Smoke. Cutter was born on a very cold day in Feb. in 2007. We knew he would be successful reiner one day and were so very happy to see him off to his new home with the Turners late in the summer of 2007!

We had the joy of seeing Cutter this past summer for the first since he left our farm as a weanling. He was being shown at the Rock Star QH shows in Culpeper, Va. We knew the handsome solid black colt when we saw him tied up at the trailer and and we're lucky enough to catch some of his warm up work outs. Sadly we were unable to stay for his classes. We also learned that day that there was talk of taking him to Congress and we're so excited to hear the news! We knew this colt was special from day one and are so happy he's found a great home with the Turners and has had wonderful training with the Gill's. We look forward to hearing more about the GREAT colt in the future!!

"Cutter has been under the guidance of Donnie and Wesley Gill. Cutter has been shown 4 times and already has a win to his credit and started earning points. He was 19th in the JR reining at the Congress. He showed no interest in the yelling, screaming or Congress mayhem. He went out there did what was asked of him and walked on out. He has one more year as a jr so we hope to try it again . We look forward to 2012 and what it holds for the little black foal we bought from your family all those years ago!"  ~ Evelyn Turner

February Updates
Found out we'll be welcoming a new family member the end of September.

Maggie is to be bred to Just Expect It(www.rosenfeldtqh.com/justexpectit) in March.

Puppies are ready for new homes March 3rd.

Next post in the coming week will be about our 2011 Show series with Dates, class list, etc. Hope everyone has had a fabulous february!

It's Official... Maggie's IN FOAL!

We found out on Aug. 25th that "Maggie" (CES Genuine Artist) is in fact in foal to "Junior" (Zippos Goldn Mover, http://www.triplejna.com/). Due Date is April 26th, 2010.

Pictured below is Maggie, taken on 10/06/08.

Pictured below is Junior (Zippos Goldn Mover).

Maggie is an own daughter of World Champion Indian Artifacts(http://www.whatiwork4.com/), one the top HUS stallions in the nation. Indian Artifacts by by the great Artful Move (http://www.artfulmove.com/) also a World Champion and Leading Sire of HUS horses in AQHA. She was not broke to ride due to an injury she had when she was a weanling. She has arthritis as a result and not sure she could handle the physical demands of training.

We are very excited to see what comes as a result this great pairing. I have had much success with crossing my TB mare and Maggie's Dam, Raven (A Genuine Shot) to Junior twice before now. Junior sires good minded, correct foals.

Maggie's 2 YO half bro, Jack, and son of Junior is broke under saddle and being shown WP in 4-H in Pa. He stands 16 Hands at just 2 yrs old!!!! WOW! See older post of Jack below.
