Meet our May 24th Trail Judge: Katie Jackson

Meet our May 24th Trail Judge:

Katie Jackson - Owner of Sneek A Peek Farm in Spotsylvania, VA. I have been riding for over 20 years. I began my horse riding in career in New York where my aunt bred Appaloosas. I began riding western (pleasure and barrels) and didn't switch to english until I moved to VA. I started mainly in the hunter ring and completed in the local and rated rings through the 3'3" hunters. Mid-way through college I made the transition to the jumper ring where I competed through the 3'6" jumpers. While in high school and college I competed on AIRC and IHSA teams. Three years ago I adopted an OTTB and began training and competing as an eventer. I currently compete locally and rated at the Novice level (3'). I have a passion for equine health and performance. 18 months ago I became a certified equine nutritionist. I focus on genetic metabolic disorders such as PSSM, IR and HYPP as well as common issues such as obesity and malnutrition.

Safety/Health Tip:
Also any horses or ponies should have proper immunizations prior to show season were they are taken to several different locations and exposed to many different horses and/or other animals or insects of different areas. We do not currently require to see immunization records at this time, but it is good practice to protect our equine companions as best you can when hauling them around to shows : )
