Great website!
2004 was my first year showing since I was a kid. Silver Star is a great place for experience and building confidence.
Please keep up the great work even though it's hard at times, we appreciate it.

My daughter showed at Silver Star her first show (and more since). It's a great family atmosphere and we're looking forward to showing again this year with her new horse and the Jolly Ranchers 4-H group. Thanks!

Hey! I don't board at Silver Star, but I frequently show at the Pleasure series shows. I'd like to say it's a very friendly atmosphere, perfect for bringing the unexperienced horse (or rider, for that matter.) Keep up the good work!

Boarding at Silver Star Farm is like being part of a "Big Family". Sometimes I go to the barn just to talk and hang out with the other boarders, Marsha (the owner), Karen (owner's daughter) and watch the horses play in the field because it is so relaxing. Going to the barn is a release from day to day stresses that we all face. My horses are healthy and happy and that makes me happy. This year I started taking riding lessons from Karen and through her encouragement, guidance, and patience have built the confidence to compete for the first time in my life in the pleasure series shows held at the barn. And that is saying a lot since I am in my forty's. So if you are looking for place to board, take lessons, or have your horse trained, come join us at Silver Star Farm and be part of our "Family".

First we want to let you know that you have a great website.
This is a story Jeffrey wrote about his School project he had to do. He had to make pictures of his community and he chose his riding lesson with Frank and Ms. Karen. Here it is.
HORSE RIDING COMMUNITY
I ride a horse named Frank.I obviously don't ride alone considering they're lessons.I ride with my instructor Ms.Karen.Frank is a large white horse who I think is cool because because he has one brown eye and one blue eye.Along with Frank there are several other horses at the farm. Some are Mandy,Thunder,Willow,Honeybear,Dillan,
Mattie,Rex,LittleJohn,Keeper,Rupert,
Dexter,Apache,Jodi,Chance and others. There are other animals at the farm as well as horses. There are pigs, goats,a peacock, chickens, sheep, cats and dogs. So far I have learned how to groom and put a saddle on his back easily. I know how to walk, jog, run and trot on Frank's back. Riding gets pretty bouncy when you start loping and you are light like me. While I am on a horse, I feel much taller. Riding is fun to me because I can go so much faster. However, for every adantage there is a disadvantage. Like when you wake up the next morning your legs feel sore and itchy. And also you have to worry about the horse tripping. Once when I was riding Frank, he had an itch on his leg and when he stopped all of the sudden I allmost flew of the saddle. So far the fastest I can do is a lope. A lope is a speed faster than a trot but slower than a gallop. Frank is a very calm horse. You could fire a gun and he wouldn't be spooked. At the farm there are three fields for the horses to go in. There is a large field, a medium field and a small field. Frank belongs in the medium field. Riding horses is important because I have something I can do that my brother can't. Now I can rub something in his face. :-) The second reason why riding horses is important to me is, my dad can't say, "You hardly do anything!" Anymore. The most important thing about riding horses is I think its fun. Just about everyone says riding horses is for girls. Apparently they have never heard of John wayne. If I had to make a comparison, I would say that galloping on a horse is like riding a rollercoaster, you get thrown around while ging at a high speed.I prefer riding bear-back over saddle. I like riding horses and I'm proud of it.
THANKS FOR READING MY STORY!
